Citric Acid
Citric Acid

Citric Acid is widely used as an acidity regulator, flavouring agent and food preservative. It is a weak organic acid that is naturally found in citrus fruits. It acts as a pH buffer while giving the product an enhanced sourness. Its acidic pH also helps to prevent bacterial growth, thus making it a natural preservative.

It is used in various food products like candies, jams, jellies, canned foods and soft drinks to regulate pH and enhance taste.

It is a white, water-soluble powder and is approved by the U.S FDA.
